100 things you (now) know about me

i enjoyed farhan's list of 100 things so much (also because he is very funny and he writes very well) that i decided to come up with one for myself.

so here goes.

100. i LOVE macdonald's fries.

99. i didnt know that my voice sounds so childlike until everyone started commenting on it, probably because i've reached the age where i'm not supposed to sound like that anymore.

98. i love reading morbid, complicated stories that involve murder, abuse, war, long and painful court cases and psychological issues (best if the ending is ironic too).

97. i am hopeless with hair styling, the best i can do is tying a ponytail.

96. my hair doesnt grow, so i dont have to worry about the above point (yet).

95. i get gastric pain when i take in too much secondhand cigarette smoke.

94. i used to wrap my school books with the sunday comics pages.

93. my first dog died in a car accident.

92. i secretly thought of working as a carpark attendant because all one does is sit in an air-conditioned, cosy little booth and watch the cars zoom by.

91. i could do better - i can read a book, drink starbucks or paint my nails while doing that.

90. i told gladys about the above point yesterday and turned out it was her secret dream too (HAHAHAHA!).

89. i think we've found our passion. HAHAHAHAHA!

88. she smsed me this morning to suggest that working in the mrt control office is not bad too.

87. i disagree because i think it doesnt look easy enough, haha!

86. i am a crybaby. i can cry on cue.

85. my friend, benjamin and i had a cry-on-cue competition where i won hands-down, of course.

84. i dont wear jeans.

83. i always mix up words with remotely similar spellings like milan and miami, perth and paris, conversation and conservation, amicable and amiable.

82. my first ever favourite colour was purple.

81. i was the assistant head prefect when i was in primary school.

80. my first perfume was a barbie fragrance that my father bought on the plane.

79. i have at least eight different types of perfume at home.

78. when i am stressed, overwhelmed or freaked, i talk to myself, not in my head but vocally.

77. i cant stand guys who carry their girlfriends' handbags.

76. when i was younger, i thought of naming my first daughter charlotte.

75. i then changed my mind because i think it's too sweet and cute of a name. i now prefer elizabeth, which i think sounds more like a girl with character.

74. my first trip to orchard was when i was hmm...i dont know, 16? or maybe 17.

73. i mostly stayed home and played on my own or with my brother when i was small.

72. i cried every single day when i first started kindergarten.

71. i still cried in my first week when i started primary school, till i got to primary three.

70. i've never been to any overnight camps.

69. i had birthday parties almost every year till i started secondary school.

68. i hated the first boy who liked me when i was about nine, not because he was awful but because i hated boys in general.

67. i have cellulite in my thighs.

66. i loved princess diaries so much that i could watch it like twice a day, everyday.

65. it was to the point that i could memorise every single line and facial expression of the characters in the show.

64. three of my best friends and i recorded our own music album using some voice recording feature on the computer and burnt the songs into a cd.

63. we each still has that cd with us.

62. we also had our own "agent" (poor kelvin) and fan club president (yes it's you, limin, hahaha!) who just needed to sit in our recording and try not to make any sound.

61. i once accompanied one of the above mentioned best friends to a singing competition and i think i forgot my lyrics after like two lines.

60. as illustrated above, i'm hopeless at remembering lyrics.

59. or numbers, or names, or anything beyond my textbooks for that matter.

58. when i was young, my dream wedding gown has a short tutu and comes with a pair of knee high boots.

57. i'm obsessed with liquid paper (or tape). every page that i write in bounds to have parts "liquid" over.

56. this odd habit was discovered by samuel, who used to sit beside me in class.

55. he liked to look at my organiser and laugh at the things that i had to remind myself about.

54. i was mad blur and would note down every minute detail of tasks i had to complete.

53. including things i wanted to say or how i had to stay happy for the day.

52. i'm only at 52?! ok this is more difficult than i thought.

51. i dont like to have my hair washed when i go to the salon.

50. i find it extremely uncomfortable and awkward. just get on with the hair cut lah.

49. i eat durians with chopsticks.

48. i was an avid sailormoon fan. i liked them so much i even had a sailormoon uniform.

47. and a sailormoon bag and a whole set of sailormoon stationery.

46. sailormoon shoes and albums and albums of collectible cards.

45. and a limited edition sailormoon barbie doll. ha!

44. i loved to study so much that i made my mom hire a tuition teacher for me just so i could have more homework to do.

43. i used to have perfect eyesight but i pretended that i couldnt see very well so that i could get glasses.

42. i thought glasses make you look clever.

41. i love happy colours. red, yellow, green, bright. sunshine, outdoor colours.

40. i used to do all sorts of funny faces on camera until jason, my ex-colleague at today told me that confident, beautiful girls dont have to hide behind those ugly expressions.

39. he taught me how to smile for the camera.

38. i still dont smile very well, but i stopped doing funny faces (most of the time).

37. i dont watch tv. yes i major in mass comm, so?

36. i adore kingsley.

35. i intentionally put that point at 36 because he likes even numbers.

34. my favourite number is 5.

33. my ideal sunday morning = snuggling in bed, with bossa nova music in the background and being served breakfast in bed.

32. instead of being a vegetarian, i once told myself i wouldnt eat anything with a face.

31. i dont know how i came up with that.

30. the resolution lasted for maybe a week.

29. i secretly think my four years at ntu have been a great waste of money and time.

28. my first photo shoot was for today - a christmas special feature.

27. people i dislike at first always turn out to be my best friends. see gladys and may.

26. so if you think i dislike you, it may turn out great in the end, let's see.

25. my dream destination is africa.

24. i stopped learning piano at grade six. i hated the exams.

23. ooh yay, i'm finally at 23!

22. i recorded all my reasons for my love posts so that there wont be any repeats.

21. to date, i already posted 70 reasons for loving kingsley. the list is, however, going to be endless.

20. i hate people who dont stand to the left on the escalator.

19. if i allow you to see me without make up, you are probably someone very dear to me, hahaha!

18. not counting LBDs, i only have one black top, given to me by kingsley.

17. i dont read fashion magazines, unless i'm waiting for the dentist or something.

16. i love attending weddings but i dont have any close relatives in singapore so i dont get to do that often.

15. i used to love drinking and could drink a lot. kingsley hates it.

14. i dont think i can drink more than two glasses now. ok maybe three.

13. my most outrageous hair colour was done for a hair show two years back - blond highlights against brown. lian max.

12. i dyed it jet black at the very first opportunity that i had.

11. i used to have six ear piercings, three on each side.

10. they have all closed up because i have allergy reactions.

9. a friend told me once that people with a dark blue rim circling their pupils can see ghosts.

8. i have that and it totally freaked me out.

7. in the end, i realised everyone has it.

6. when i first met kingsley, i thought he was rather vain for he kept complaining about how his teacher wanted him to cut his hair.
